Author, Drum Educator and YouTuber Warren de Melo is no stranger to the music industry, he is a professional drummer of many years, having had live experience from the age of 7. As an educator and performer, Warren has been featured in Modern Drummer Magazine, Metal Hammer, Rhythm Magazine, and many more.

Experience

During Warren’s career, He has played in the Westend smash-hit musicals, Mamma Mia and The Bodyguard as well as a diverse range of cabaret acts, his musical history spans from 1920's Big band music, all the way to modern day Pop, Jazz and Metal and every style in between. Warren’s added ability to teach, compose, engineer and sing backing vocals continues to set him apart. Besides being known for his frightening speed & ambidexterity, Warren’s infectious groove has presented him numerous opportunities, gigs and recording sessions, both nationally and internationally.  A combination of natural talent, work-ethic and never-ending curiosity, have propelled Warren to an unbelievable performance heights.

When not gigging, recording or touring, Warren maintains a busy schedule publishing drum books, teaching over 60 students, mixing and mastering audio for artists, and recording drum content for his YouTube channel.

Warren’s first drum book - Time Essentials for Drummers, features a wonderful foreword by drum legend, Dom Famularo, the book is gaining impressive traction with over 600 copies sold since it’s launch on Amazon in 2023. The book includes audio examples, charts, practice journal, a special chapter on mastering 4/4 and all odd meters from 21 down to 3 and motivational content to hack your mind to success.
